The past few years have created challenges for many families and students. Families have struggled with financial hardships, food insecurities, and other important family issues. This year, the Avonworth School District is partnering with our local charity, Avonworth Communities Together (ACT), to help raise funds for our needy families during this holiday season thru December 15th.
On "Giving Tuesday”, which is November 28th, we are excited to announce we have a partner that is willing to match up to $5,000 of everything collected. Therefore, “WE” Need YOUR Help this week!
With Thanksgiving approaching, we enter that time of the year when the weather could impact our school schedule. As we prepare for the possibility of weather-related delays and closings, we want to make sure families are as prepared as possible.

Avonworth Elementary School fifth grade students honored veterans by inviting family and friends who are veterans to speak to classes. Students developed an appreciation for the extraordinary work performed by our service men and women.
A special thank you to Mrs. Winkworth’s class for providing our guests with a warm welcome and wonderful refreshments.

We are excited to debut our Friday Night Lights video before our last home football game of the season! This short video highlights our talented football, cheer and band students, and celebrates the incredible atmosphere under those Avonworth Friday Night Lights.

The Avonworth School District is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment at all our athletics and extracurricular events. Therefore, the following policies will be implemented immediately to ensure all spectators at high school football games have a safe and enjoyable experience.

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh offers before and after school enrichment for Avonworth students in grades K-6 at the Primary Center.
We are excited to announce that Avonworth has partnered with Hometown Ticketing this year to offer our 'Lopes supporters the option to purchase individual sport passes and season passes to our home athletics events. Passes are currently available for our fall season!
Avonworth student transportation information is available in Alma. If you are having trouble finding your child's transportation information, the directions are outlined below.
How to Find Student Transportation Information
1. Log into Alma.
2. Click on your initials in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Click "My Info."
4. Locate bus information under the "My Students" list.
We are looking forward to welcoming all of our students back to school next week!
Safety will always be a top priority for the Avonworth School District. Each summer, we examine our emergency operations plan for the coming year. The district has trained threat assessment teams and a strong working relationship with Ohio Township police and emergency responders. In addition, we practice and refine emergency procedures throughout the year. We share this message to proactively allow families to discuss school safety before the school year.
